Event Details

Artist Angela Hansen will use her specialization in encaustic work to create five unique sculptures that make up the installation art called Transformation of Gaia.

Encaustic work uses beeswax to create surface relief and sculptures. You will be able to view the circle of sculptures enhanced with lighting and sound in the Drama Room along the School Hallway.

Angela Hansen is a Lake Country-based artist and art instructor. She completed her BDes at the Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver and her BEd from the University of Victoria. Angela creates with encaustics and her work is recognized for its organic-inspired imagery, sculptural qualities and use of texture. Her art has been exhibited in the Okanagan, Kootenays and has recently been juried into “In Flawed Abundance”, an encaustic exhibition hosted by the International Encaustic Artists association in Massachusetts, US. Angela’s encaustic art can also be seen in the UK magazine, House & Garden, fall 2017 issues in the Art Edit spread.
