Hall, Sue

Sue was born and raised in Nelson, New Zealand which is now the heart of the country’s art scene. It is a very picturesque town on the ocean, with the best weather in the country, making it conducive to an artist’s lifestyle. She loves to travel and has visited most of the areas that interest her. This and annual trips to NZ always inspire her and time is really her only limitation.She travelled through Europe for the good part of 1974 before arriving in Montreal where she worked in a weaving studio. She then moved to Vancouver in the id 70’s where she opened a weaving store. She closed the retail side after a couple of years as she found most of her sales were commissioned pieces by private collectors. These included works in Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco, Miami and New York. Sue has worked with various high-profile designers in California, including Sandi van Vliet and Randy Patton at Steve Chase and Assoc. She has completed numerous private commissions which she enjoys as it enables her to collaborate with the client to produce the perfect piece.
