Guidelines for Exhibiting at ArtWalk 2025
The following guidelines apply to all artists participating in ArtWalk:

Original Artwork Only – Reproductions and greeting cards are not permitted.
-
New Work Encouraged – The majority of your pieces should be new and not previously exhibited at ArtWalk.

Display Space Options – Choose from:
-
100 sq. ft. for $100
-
200 sq. ft. for $200
-
Space is limited and will be assigned in acceptance letters.

Space Configurations Vary – Sizes such as 10’ x 20’ or 8’ x 25’ will be determined by layout.

Annual Jury Process – All artists are juried each year.

Application Forms –

A general application is available for artists, photographers, groups, and galleries.

Fibre artists have a separate application process.
-

Sales Commission – A 10% commission applies to all sales.
-
Sales Options – Artists may handle their own sales or use the central Sales Table. If handling your own, accurate reporting is expected.
-
Display Quality – Artists are responsible for creating a professional, gallery-style display without overcrowding.

Display Planning –

Structures cannot exceed 8 feet in height.
-
If your display reaches 8 feet, indicate this on the Artist Agreement Form to ensure proper placement.

Grid Panel Requests –
-
ArtWalk provides limited grid panels (2' x 6').
-
Up to six panels may be requested on the Artist Exhibition Form if selected.
-

Committee Support & Adjustments – Assistance is available upon request, and the committee may adjust displays to meet safety and quality standards.
-
Theme Participation – Artists are not required to incorporate the theme, but special theme-related opportunities may be offered.

Exhibition Labels –

If selected, artists must submit label details by August 8, 2025.
-
Instructions for submitting this information online will be provided.
-
ArtWalk produces all labels for a cohesive look (jewellers may be exempt).
-
Criteria for Selection of Participating Artists:
-
All work must be original, creative art.
-
Artworks must be of high quality, showing a strong body of work for each artist.
-
Artists must reside in the Okanagan Valley.
-
All types of artworks may be submitted, paintings, sculpture, mixed media, any medium.
-
The Jury process will take place in May; artists will be notified in June.

Additional Note
For Fibre Artists
Fibre Artists will have a separate application form but will follow the same jury process, deadlines, and communications as other ArtWalk participants. Fibre Arts will continue to have a designated display area at the festival.
Two Ways to Participate
-
100 sq. ft. Booth Space – Ideal for guilds, groups, or individual artists with a large display. A representative must be present. You may handle sales independently (e.g., via Square) or use the ArtWalk sales system.
Cost: $100 plus 10% of sales to ArtWalk. -
Fibre Arts Curated Collection – Submit up to five pieces for jury review. You do not need to be present; a Fibre Arts Coordinator will manage sales.

$0 – $40: $2.50

$40 – $100: $5.00
-
$100+: $10.00
Plus 10% of total sales to ArtWalk.

A Fibre Arts specialist will be on the Jury Committee.

A dedicated Fibre Arts Coordinator will support you before and during the event.

If you have a booth, we encourage you to bring a project to work on and share your craft with visitors.


Additional Note
For Photographers
Photographers will now follow the same standard application process as other artists, galleries, and groups.
Key Changes for Photographers
-
The jury process will now evaluate photographic artists rather than individual pieces.
-
All photography will be displayed in a designated Photography area at ArtWalk.
-
A Photography specialist will be on the Jury Committee.
-
A Photography Coordinator will provide communication and support throughout the process.
Space Options for Photographers
-
100 sq. ft. Individual Space – Apply for your own dedicated display area.
-
Pre-Planned Group Space – Organize a group of photographers to share a 100 sq. ft. space.
-
Shared Space for Individual Artists – Apply as an individual to submit a few images, which will be displayed in a curated shared space. Final layout will be determined by ArtWalk organizers.
Fees for Individual Submissions

If applying as an individual (not as part of a pre-planned group), the registration fee is $10 per displayed artwork.

Jury Process: Takes place in May. Applicants will be notified of the results via email in June.

What to Include in Your Application
✔ Completed Application Form – Submit the form once all sections are complete.
✔ Artist Biography – Upload a brief bio outlining your exhibitions, commissions, or other artistic work.
✔ Artwork Samples – Upload a minimum of 10 high-quality images representing your work. These help the Jury Committee assess the type and quality of your art.

All artwork types you intend to display must be juried.
-
Poor-quality images may result in submission rejection.
✔ Identification & Image Quality – Ensure all uploaded images are clearly labelled and of good quality for proper evaluation.
✔ For Galleries & Groups – Include examples from all participating artists.
✔ Special Requests – Use the final section of the application form to note any specific requests.
