• Tracey Kutschker grew up in the urban jungle of Toronto, Ontario.  She came to drawing naturally, and showed her abilities through portraits of family and friends. When she was in her teens, her family packed up and moved west, landing in a small Alberta town.

Tracey studied painting and film-making while obtaining her Bachelor of Arts degree at University of Lethbridge, Alberta. Once married to her sculptor husband, they moved to the Shuswap in the lush British Columbia interior. Currently residing in Salmon Arm, BC, Tracey is the Director/Curator of Salmon Arm Art Gallery and Arts Centre.

Tracey portrays visually the mysterious notion that many Shuswapians feel, the inexplicable draw to this quirky, isolated part of BC. The sapphire lake, the velvet mountains, the dense forests and the lively towns and cabins. Her saturated colour palette has developed since her move to the Shuswap, representing ripe fruit and abundant food supplies.
