    Karen Coon has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions across Canada and Ireland. The beauty and intimacy of the human figure has been the main focus of her work for many years, and her portrait paintings have won awards including “Third Place for Portraiture” at the Armstrong Spallumcheen Public Art Gallery, and “Honorable Mention for Portraiture” at the Sooke Fine Arts Show. Karen has studied painting and drawing directly from professional artists including Kristy Gordon, Ingrid Christensen, Martinho Corriea, and Myfanwy Pavelic. Her influences range from the Renaissance to the masters of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, joining the current revival of the classical traditions of fine art portraiture. She is an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and the Arrow Lake Fine Arts Guild.
