The Interior’s largest arts festival.
Lake Country ArtWalk, the largest of its kind in the BC interior, showcases original works of art and live performances created by visual and performing artists living in the Okanagan Valley. More than 300 artists of all media are exhibiting over 3000 original works of art.
The two-day event plays host to over 7,000 visitors. Artwalk is truly a community event with many volunteers working hard to make this festival happen, and with community groups contributing in numerous ways.
1994 The original two day event was organized by Jody La Fontaine of Holiday Park Resort to showcase the Resort's extensive art collection which at that time featured over 80 artists from the Okanagan Valley. The show was an overwhelming success and became an annual event at the Resort.
1999 Within five years the show was so popular a larger venue was needed. Jody turned ArtWalk over to the nearby District of Lake Country (made up of the communities formerly known as Winfield, Carr's Landing, Okanagan Centre and Oyama), and in 1999 ArtWalk became Lake Country ArtWalk and moved to the newly completed Lake Country Community Complex.
2017 Now in its 24th year, Lake Country ArtWalk has expanded to feature more than 300 Okanagan artists, photographers and sculptors as well as exhibits by Okanagan University College Fine Arts Students, audio visual presentations, musical entertainment, children's activities pavilion and live theatre productions.
